Since 2010, FRF has been delivering life-saving medical equipment and supplies to hospitals and clinics in Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Niger, Mali, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Liberia. We’re focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, Ebola, and COVID19. We also work alongside health experts to treat victims of earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters as well as societal crises. Our work is organized by strategic initiatives and projects that aim to increase medical product donations' efficiency, value, scope, and quality.
Since 2013, FRF has shipped over 300 Containers of medical supplies and equipment to 145
Government and local hospitals in West African Region. These donated medical supplies are of immeasurable assistance to the FRF health care programs overseas, often making the difference between continuing or closing hospitals and clinics. Discarded but usable medical supplies in every category are obtained from hospitals and sent to hospitals and clinics in the Dansoman Region of Ghana through ‘Project MD’. Doctors no longer have to wash sutures by hand for re-use, but can proceed to save lives and heal diseases with the necessary tools and equipment.
FRF has created the avenues of collection, the avenues of distribution, and the areas that these donations and items will have the most impact both in the United States and Ghana. Thousands of lives have been impacted; thousands more are waiting, as number of reclaimable items increases rather than decreases.
The goal of FRF is to raise 5 million ($5,000,000.00) for the shipping program. FRF volunteers will gather, sort, repair, catalog, pack and ship items ranging from needles, syringes and bandages to incubators, computers, ultra-sound and operating tables as donations to over 200 hospitals and clinics.
The cost of sending one 8 by 8 by 40-foot container is approximately $50,000. The shipments of medical supplies will not be shipped without the support of contributors and donors. FRF is actively seeking funders and sponsors to bring the message of hope to the people of Ghana through tangible medical supplies and equipment.
